Sports In America Who Really Pays In The End ??

By Anthony Scaperrotta on January 28th 2012
Curtis Jackson better known by fans and the public as 50 cent. 50 had set up a bet with rapper Birdman on the outcome of Superbowl 46, a big bet at that. Both rappers agreed to put up 1 million yes no typo 1 million dollars on their team. 50 cent took the New York Giants to win the Superbowl to represent his hometown blood. Rapper Birdman picked the New England Patriots but wait Birdman's  hometown is New Orleans, smells like a frontrunner if you ask me. Lets face it both guys are super rich 1 million dollars to 50 cent and Birdman is like pocket lint. 50 hit Twitter saying he's up $500,000.00 from last years winnings and that he wanted to double down his winnings. It was not until Thursday that 50 went live on Twitter noting that he changed his mind on the bet. He stated that he would rather focus on his world hunger project to help the hungry and misfortunate. It almost comes as a relief to some that feel like me with the understanding of the out of control distribution of money in the professional sports world today. I agree with 50 cent on this particular topic and the idea of using ridiculous amounts of money in professional sports and putting the money towards bigger issues. Our country of America is currently in a 16 trillion dollar debt a number that grows and grows at a daily rate. Prince Fielder just singed a 9 year 214 million dollar contract though so who cares. The prince clearly would not be able to survive on anything less then 25 million dollars a years. The guy who has it the worst is by far Albert Puljo's, he should probably start to look for a second job with his main job paying only 24 million a year, boy do I feel bad for that guy. Look I love sports and I always will but my political crusade should be pretty cut and dry after reading the above. I feel these guys should be paid in the millions but to an extent less then what it is now. The sad part is the athletes who are making the money and producing nothing for the clubs who honor them along with the fans who cheer for them and pay to see them at events. The fans are the ones who really pay in the end, ever wonder why at Yankee Stadium why a hot dog is $6.50? Or why is an ice cold Budweiser $10.50? Can't forget your $7.00 Pepsi and last but not least your can't forget you $10.75 Carls Yankee Stadium cheese steak. The answer is because when you go to your teams games your subliminally paying the salaries of the all stat athletes on your ball club (pretty sick isn't it.) They say money is the root of all evil and professional sports has surely shown that of evil. Without our country there are no professional sports and without our economy there is no Scott Boris, Robert Kraft, Jerry Jones or Mark Cuban. Bottom line instead of throwing all this money around to these big all stars it should all be pumped into our countries debt crisis until it is closed. I understand how much money these athletes produce but their is a yellow line between reasonable and unreasonable and professional sports has crossed the double yellow.
